With Aion released a couple of weeks ago, it's time for Executive Producer of NCsoft West, Lance Stites to speak about the state of Aion.

Lance mentions a "polished and incredibly fun" game, something that most players and critics agree. He then goes on to talk about the frustrating queue times, something he blames on their plan to release Aion almost simultaneously in North America and Europe. To solve this was the biggest challenge, but adding extra servers wasn't the solution, since "some servers quickly become very popular servers, with lines queued up to enter, but other servers have plenty of space to accommodate players."

NCsoft is currently working on implementing a server transfer service beginning next month, so that no previous character is left abandoned. They will offer every player a free one-time server transfer for a limited time to select servers.

Aion has been praised for its polish and overall quality, but also suffered some criticism for its lack of originality.
